The FREEJUMP AIRBAG is a protective vest specifically designed for equestrian sports, to protect the rider's vital areas in the event of a fall. It can be worn over a light layer of clothing (a t-shirt, sweatshirt, or light sweater) or over a jacket.
France is the first country to adopt a standard governing the production of equestrian airbags as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Pending European harmonization, the NF S72-800-2022 standard guarantees advanced protection by defining rigorous criteria for the protective surface, inflation speed, and impact testing.
The FREEJUMP AIRBAG is the first equestrian airbag vest to be certified to this standard, reaching the required pressure and full inflation for optimal protection in just 98 milliseconds (for size S), thus exceeding the standard's requirements. In addition to meeting safety standards, the FREEJUMP AIRBAG stands out for its ability to withstand horizontal impacts while offering exceptional protection against longitudinal impacts along the spine.
Optimized protection zone.
The FREEJUMP AIRBAG offers optimized protection for the neck, back, lumbar region, sacrum, pelvis, and chest. It requires the use of a certified equestrian helmet and incorporates a stabilizing collar to protect the spine and vital areas.
The neck, chest and back protection is adapted to each size, ensuring coverage of 24% of the chest circumference and 100% of the length from waist to shoulders for the chest and 20% of the chest circumference and 120% of the length from waist to shoulders for the back.
Side protection ensures perfect torso alignment, while the spine, pelvis, hips and vital organs receive enhanced protection thanks to the two torso heights for sizes XS, S, M and L, available in regular or long versions.
Comfort and performance.
The FREEJUMP AIRBAG is made with silky Italian fabrics and perforated sides, offering exceptional comfort and ventilation. Its fitted cut and flexible design ensure optimal protection and maximum comfort.
The safety lanyard features a fabric loop to prevent rattling when it comes into contact with the ball lanyard carabiner.
Compatibility.
The FREEJUMP AIRBAG vest is designed to be worn both over and under a compatible jacket. The NF S-72-800-2022 standard requires official compatibility testing by the CRITT for all jackets worn over an airbag. The FREEJUMP AIRBAG vest has been tested by the CRITT, ensuring its compliance and safety.
Pending a possible update of the standard through European harmonization, FREEJUMP guarantees that all jackets certified NF S72-800-2022 and compatible with airbags of other brands are also compatible with FREEJUMP and PÉNÉLOPE AIRBAG jackets.
Correct functioning of the FREEJUMP AIRBAG is guaranteed with any compatible jacket, as long as the cable exits from the bottom of the jacket (and not through a specially designed hole).
To ensure maximum protection and comfort for riders, the FREEJUMP apparel range, which includes the MONA and MAX racing jackets, the KLOE and KARL sleeveless down jackets, the MADDY and MATT rain jackets, and the MALLORY hoodie, has been specially designed to be compatible with the FREEJUMP AIRBAG vest when worn underneath. Custom sizes and fits.
The FREEJUMP AIRBAG is available in children's sizes S and L and adult sizes XXS to XXL, with two options for sizes XS to L: regular or long (marked with a "T" in the size) to ensure a perfect fit even for taller people. For example, size XS in the long version is labeled XST.
Sizes S and L are suitable for children weighing at least 25 kg and 130 cm tall. Starting from size XXS, the FREEJUMP AIRBAG is designed for users who are at least 1.45 m tall and weigh at least 35 kg.
